Lock text messages?

Is there a way to lock text messages so people who we hand our phone off to use for a minute like our kids can’t see certain messages? Like locking it and have to enter code to see message? And then also have that control to turn off in parental restrictions so our kids can’t erase texts or lock parents out from reading their texts.?
