Jerky Video on iPhone 14 Pro Max

I have a new phone and one of my video games that runs video for the game play is jerky. I don’t know if there’s a setting or not but it’s frustrating when I didn’t have issues before. Any fixes?

Hey BearBoyd,

Is the iPhone software up-to-date? The latest version is iOS 16.1.1. If not, follow the steps here: Update your iPhone or iPad.

Afterwards, also make sure the app is up-to-date by following the steps below:

Open the App Store.
Tap your profile icon at the top of the screen.
Scroll to see pending updates and release notes. Tap Update next to an app to update only that app, or tap Update All.

Hey BearBoyd,

By fixes did you mean reinstalling the app from scratch and testing and then reaching out to the app developer for potential steps? If not, that's a good place to move if updating didn't help, especially if only that one app is having the issue you mentioned with performance. If you haven't had a chance to reach out to the app developer as of yet, that's definitely recommended if the issue is isolated. This page will tell you How to contact an app developer.

Oh forgive me, I have it mixed up with another issue I’m having.

I did message support in the app in question of the jerky video and they said others are having the same issue since the recent iOS update.

The separate issue is several apps are not showing me notifications, badges, vibrate or banners when I get a message or someone I’m waiting on comes online. Those apps are up to date and so is the iOS as this is a new phone and loaded them from scratch then I got updates. Everything is on that should be on and off that I don’t need on.
