macbook pro get an error message when trying to change airplay display to my Roku tv; I rebooted all devices involved

Macbook Pro and Roku TV; error message when selecting from "Airplay Display" from "off" to "55in TCL Roku TV". I have rebooted all four devices: TV, MacBook,Modeum, Rotor. Error message just says "Could not connect to '55in TCL Roku TV' ". This error is identical to the message I get when picking the "Screen Mirroring" option from the top menu bar.

I have been able to mirror in the past a few times; seemed to work seamlessly. Also to note, I can airplay from my iPhone with no problems. Thanks

MacBook Pro 15″

Hello VinGodisgood,

We see that you're having trouble using AirPlay between your Mac and Roku. We'd recommend reviewing the steps listed here: If screen mirroring or streaming isn't working on your AirPlay-compatible device - Apple Support

After each step, see if you still need help.

  1. Make sure that your AirPlay-compatible devices are turned on and near each other.
  2. Check that the devices are updated to the latest software and are on the same Wi-Fi network.
  3. Restart the devices that you want to use with AirPlay or screen mirroring.

If you're prompted to enter a password, you might have restrictions turned on, or you might need to adjust your AirPlay password settings.

If you still can’t use AirPlay after trying these steps, contact Apple Support.
