After resetting my iPhone I went over to Apple ID suggestions and it’s asking for my old password used to unlock my iPhone which I do not remember, and is also the reason I had to reset my phone is there a work around?

Hello Burke2107,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities.

We understand your situation and how you are noticing this Apple ID message after resetting your iPhone. We’d be happy to help you find a solution so that you can sync up your iPhone and iCloud data again.

As it turns out, this message would be expected if you are syncing a new device with your existing iCloud data. For security, many Apple services use end-to-end encryption, which may require your device passcode to enable.

If you not longer have your previous device passcode, you may see an option on this screen to reset your passcode, or a “Forgot Passcode” button. Please know that using this option may erase some of your iCloud data, including saved account passwords.

The following Apple Support article explains more about the end-to-end encryption and two-factor authentication that your Apple ID utilizes: iCloud security overview - Apple Support

If you are unable to find a solution using the information above, we would suggest contacting Apple Support directly for more help.

We hope that this information helps.

Cheers!
