Hey there nlubbers,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. For the best steps on how to sort your iCloud email, check out the steps listed in the following resources below:

Search, filter, and flag email in Mail on iCloud.com - Apple Support

Filter email
1. In Mail on iCloud.com, click the folder you want to filter in the Mailboxes list.
2. Click the Filter Messages button above the message list. You can see the current filter next to “Filtered by.”
3. Do one of the following:
- Change the filter: Click the current filter. In the pop-up menu, choose the filter or filters you want to use.
- Stop filtering messages: Click the Filter Messages button again.

Organize email with folders in Mail on iCloud.com - Apple Support

Create a folder or subfolder
In Mail on iCloud.com, do one of the following:
- Create a new folder: While a default folder is selected, click the Add Folder button next to Folders in the Mailboxes list. Type a name, then press Return or Enter.
- Create a subfolder: Select the folder where you want to add a subfolder, click the Add Folder button, type the new subfolder’s name, then press Return or Enter. You can also click an existing folder and drag it onto another folder.
- Move a subfolder to the top level: Click the subfolder, then drag it onto the Folders header in the Mailboxes list.

The folders you create are sorted alphabetically.

Move email into a folder
In Mail on iCloud.com, select the message or messages, then do either of the following:
- If you selected one message: Click the Folder button at the top right, choose a folder or create a new folder, then click Move.
- If you selected multiple messages: Click Move, choose a folder or create a new folder, then click Move.

You can also select one or more messages, then drag them onto a folder in the Mailboxes list.

Let us know if that's able to help.

Have a great day!
