I purchased a new song I want to put it as ringtone how can I do that?

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. To get started, when you say you purchased a new song, did you purchase an entire song from an album, or did you purchase just a Tone from the iTunes Store app?

We ask because only ringtones purchased under the 'Tones' section of the iTunes Store app can be used as a ringtone. More details can be found in the 'Related Article' that was shared on this thread: Use tones and ringtones with your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Buy ringtones from the iTunes Store

1. Open the iTunes Store app.

2. Tap  More.

3. Tap Tones. 

4. Find a ringtone that you want to buy, then tap the price.

5. Choose an option to automatically set the ringtone. Or tap Done to decide later.

6. You might need to enter your Apple ID password to complete your purchase.

With that being said, you could take that song and create a ringtone using GarageBand on an iPhone or Mac with the steps in these next resources below:

• Create a ringtone of your Logic Pro X or GarageBand for Mac song
• Import a song from the Music app into GarageBand for iPhone
