OK. Thanks for the clarification. Your description of the issue tells me that the apps are crashing on your iPhone after a few seconds of usage.
One of the reasons why that is happening is poor battery health. You may have a poor battery condition which cannot provide sufficient power for peak performance. What is the Battery Health of your iPhone? Open Settings ➔ Battery ➔ Battery Health and let us know which percentage you see for Maximum Capacity. Also note what is written under Peak Performance. If your battery's Maximum Capacity shows a value of 80% or less, then it has gone through its lifecycle and therefore should be replaced, according to Apple. If your Battery Health percentage is between 85 - 100% then try the following:
Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

What exactly do you mean by Apps won’t stay open? There is only one app at a time that you can view on an iPhone’s screen. When you open a new app, then the previous app minimizes and moves in the background. When you return to the previous app (that is not force closed), then it should open where you left off or it will refresh itself depending on how long it has been in the background and how often you reopen that app.
If you meant something other than what I understood from your post, then please clarify. Thanks.

I’m sorry I wasn’t clear. I will give you an example. I open Nextdoor. It only stays open less than a few seconds. It closes. I open Words with Friends app and it closes after a few seconds. I open my email app and it closes after a few seconds. Etc.
