Has anyone had success running Dragon NaturallySpeaking 15 voice dictation using Parallels 18 (to run Windows 10 ) on a new M1 chip iMac?

Has anyone had success running Dragon NaturallySpeaking 15 voice dictation using Parallels 18 (to run Windows 10 ) on a new M1 chip iMac?

Before I  bought my new iMac, Nuance told me that it would work,  but when I went online to purchase it today,   now they are telling me that it is not supported, and cannot be used on Parallels at all. I am not sure what Nuance told me today makes sense.  If you can use Parallels to run Windows on your Mac, why would it be any different than using Dragon NaturallySpeaking on a Windows machine?

Online, Nuance says Dragon NaturallySpeaking is supported on Windows 10, but not as yet on 11. It is inconceivable that it won't be supported sometime soon, so if I stuck to Windows 10, I don't understand why they are saying it is not supported. Essentially these are not really Windows questions, as this is about how I can run quality comprehensive voice dictation while still using my Mac.

I had been using Dragon for Mac for donkeys years,  so when it was discontinued, it was  a real blow, as I have a hand disability. I gave Apple's voice dictation a try, but it is painfully wanting, compared to Dragon.(Hint, hint, Apple)

Support at Nuance has always been iffy at best (particularly for Mac users) but I chose to get a new iMac based on the premise that I would be able to use Dragon NaturallySpeaking via Parallels and Windows. As it would cost approximately $700 to get the new Dragon NaturallySpeaking update, Windows 10, Parallels, and Windows /Excel, it should be clear that I really wanted to stay with a Mac, but before spending so much money  to set up Dragon NaturallySpeaking, I had  hoped for some feedback from those who had already given this a try.

At present, I am  dictating using Dragon Dictate on my old 2013 iMac, High Sierra 10.13.6),  then sending documents to my new iMac using airdrop, but this is a pretty Baroque and time consuming process, and I can’t expect my ancient Mac to last forever. How I wish that Apple dictation were on a par with Dragon NaturallySpeaking. What to do in the interim… After just spending an absolute fortune on a brand-new iMac, I am wondering whether I should have finally given in and switched over to Windows, as I absolutely need comprehensive voice dictation. Drat.

Thank you for your reply. I was referring to using Dragon NaturallySpeaking on Windows with Parallels, rather than Dragon Dictate for Mac.

Is there a distinction between what apps can be run on Windows using Parallels, as opposed to being run on a Windows machine? And how would I be able to tell?

Yes I know.

As I tried to explain, only the Windows 11 ARM64 Insider Preview will run on an M1/M2 Mac in Parallels Desktop. Only Windows software that can run in the ARM64 version of Windows might be compatible. That would be software that can run on Microsoft Surface laptops.
