MacBook Air 2022 M2 Battery drains with strange battery level record

Hi, everyone! My battery drains about 25% over night after completely shutting down. I bought this MacBook air 2022 M2 only three months ago. What is more strange is that the battery level record indicates that it is on charging over the whole night, see the green bars below in the range from 12A to 9. I didn't charge it. How to explain this? Can anyone give any suggestions to find the problem? Thanks in advance.

By the way, to solve the battery drainage problem I erased my mac and installed the brand new Ventura system today, so I have no third-party apps installed on this Mac. Days ago, I went to see the Genius Bar technicians and they found no problem after diagnosing the whole Mac. But, there must be a reason, right?

Greetings WinterWAN,

Thank you for providing those additional details. To confirm, when you're powering off the Mac, are you doing so by clicking the Apple logo towards the top-left, followed by Shut Down in the menu? If not and you're only closing the display, this could explain why the battery may be decreasing. Adjusting settings may help with reaching a resolution if you're not powering off the Mac. The steps listed below can be helpful in resolving this issue. You can also find these steps, along with additional tips in the following article.

If you have a Mac notebook computer, you can change the options below to reduce energy use and optimize the lifespan of your battery.
  1. "On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Battery  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
  2. Do any of the following:
    • Click the pop-up menu next to Low Power Mode on the right, then choose “Always,” “Only on battery,” or “Only on power adapter.”
    • Click the Info button  next to Battery Health on the right, then turn on Optimized Battery Charging and “Manage battery longevity.”
    • Click Options on the right, then turn on “Put hard disks to sleep when possible” and “Automatic graphics switching.”

Hi DerekM87,

Thanks for your kind reply. To your questions, the answers are yes. As for the frequency, it drains all the time after completely shutting down. Over these days, I have made more attempts and observations. I tried to turn off bluetooth and wifi before shutting down, but it didn't work. I also tried the following commands:

sudo pmset -a tcpkeepalive 0
sudo pmset -a powernap 0

which show no help in stopping the drainage.

Looking forward to your suggestions...

Cheers!
