Did the updates on my I-12 and Apple watch. Now the time does not display unless I push the crown

How do I fix it?

Was Theater Mode inadvertently selected in the Control Center?

If that is not the problem, try Restarting your Watch.

Theater Mode is a good thing to check.

Also, you could check the "Always On" setting-- it's is supposed to be the default, but it's worth looking at: Settings>Display&Brightness>Always On
