Dear Apple,
Kindly, and I beg you, to reduce th size of the digital Clock on the Lock Screen for IOS16 or at least allow individual user to select the font size
or
return to the old version size. Right now the Clock is TOO BIG.
I believe there are many iPhone users
are distracted by this update.

I agree, Rojmer. I really like the large clock font. As you mentioned, this is a user to user community forum. We cannot make any changes so it would be much more effective to post your feedback directly to Apple here:
Sandra (^_^) Marvelous Xx!, while you cannot change the brightness per se, you do have the ability to customize the Lock Screen … picking a photo or wallpaper that is not as bright … changing filters on that photo. You may prefer the black and white. I find it to be less bright. You can find more information here: Personalize your iPhone Lock Screen - Apple Support
But a word of caution — be sure to tap Done after making any adjustments. Otherwise your changes will not be saved.
I wish I came here to write a solution. But if this can just warm your heart up, by knowing you're not alone, know that I'm as disturb as you are regarding this not-thought-out change. I came here to post about the same problem.
I looked everywhere and there is no apparent settings to change that. I'm highly disturbed ! I'm glad some people are enjoying it without their glasses, but I use the smallest size font on my phone and can literally fit 30 words inside the space the clock is using now and it's basically TOO BIG. Soon, I'll be the one needing glasses because of the clock being set that way !!
My arm is not long enough to push it far enough away from my eyes. The phone can be 20' away and I can read the time. Beyond my own personal feeling, I judge this iPhone change to be extremely irrational. We should have the choice !! Why being imposed this only 1 option ?
Worst part : time doesn't matter to me !

I already wish the brightness of the screen could even go lower. If now, some of the font size can't be adjusted... i'm really gonna loose faith in Apple. And trust me, I prefer my feeling of safety and partnership to dominate in my relationship with Apple, over my feeling of desperation !

I actually love the new clock font. I find it easier to read when I don't have my reading glasses on.
However, if you want to tell apple your opinion on this, you should use the feedback site rather than post it in a community of Apple users like yourself.
Just a quick note to the good folks at Apple, in case they see this.
I really, really dislike the large clock on the lock screen. I am not outraged enough to switch phones but I will definitely be taking it out of my pocket less often.
This makes me enjoy my iPhone less.
Please consider giving us the option to remove the clock entirely. This is not the 80's, and nobody needs a VCR display on their lock screen.
