Powerbeats Pro crashIng after latest firmware update (5B55)

Noticed last week that my Powerbeats Pro‘s started to constantly disconnect and reconnect. Tried to troubleshoot and figured out that on Nov 8th, Apple updated the beats/airpods firmware (I was on 4A394 and now just realized I‘m on 5B55).

I see that there’s no way to downgrade these firmwares, and my experience is now miserable. I’ve tried everything and nothing works. The update is more than likely the issue.

As I understand it, even if I get another pair that’s on the previous firmware, the update happens behind the scenes and is forced on every user.

Is there a way to send this info to Apple?

Thanks!

iPhone X, iOS 13

Hi there Super_Serg,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand you have some issues with your Powerbeats Pro disconnecting and reconnecting frequently. We have some guidance to help with this issue and narrow down what might be going on. First, we'd recommend resetting your Beats and testing them again:

Reset your Beats earphones - Apple Support

If the issue is still present, let's narrow down the issue:

  1. Test your Beats with another device
  2. Test another Bluetooth device with your iPhone
  3. Take note if your Beats tend to disconnect while using a specific app

This will help to start narrowing down the possible underlying cause. Also, if you ever need to submit feedback, ideas, or suggestions, you can fill out our online form here: Product Feedback - Apple

You can also reach out to our dedicated support teams directly for anything: Apple Support
