If you buy an UNLOCKED phone in Spain it will work in the US with any carrier. However, it will not support the very high speed millimeter wave bands.

In addition to the information provided by Lawrence Finch,

you should be aware that while the warranty on that iPhone is

valid throughout the EU, it is not valid in the US. If warranty

repair/replacement becomes necessary, you will have to

return that iPhone to Spain personally or via friend/relative/co-worker

and then back to you via the same route. Apple does not

accept international shipments for repair nor will Apple

ship internationally after repair/replacement.
