Accidental calling of favorites on hang up

Reposting what I sent to a similar thread because this flaw is frustrating:

Found a workaround until Apple adds the delay back...

Go to Settings > Siri & Search > Call Hang Up > Turn on

You can now say "Hey siri, hang up" at the end of a call.

Whoever you're talking to will obv hear it, so I wouldn't use it for calls other than family and friends, but a late night call to the wife will no longer end with accidental calls to co-workers from the favorites screen.

FWIW, the side lock button to hang up is hit or miss for me (mostly miss) and no, I've not got it disabled.

Exit the Phone app, after the phone call.

After experiencing the same problem, I started making sure to return to the Home Screen after a call. That has resolved it for me.

Keep the iPhone locked when not in use.
