Apps reloading when switching

Greetings,

My Phone keeps reloading apps even tho I dont want to and I want to know how can stop this?

So for example, I can be on Instagram for 5 minutes and scroll. And then I open another app (without force shutting down Instagram). I continue to be on the other app for 5 minutes and switch back to Instagram. As soon as I open it, the page reloads and I lose pace of where I was. I now have to scroll like a maniac to find and continue from where I was before it reloaded.

I have iPhone background refresh in general > settings turned off, yet it continues..

Ramjarfromswe,

The latest version of iOS is currently iOS 16.1.1, updating can help ensure the device is using the latest available fixes/improvements: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
The Settings app on iPhone showing options to update to iOS 15.7 or iOS 16.

5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

Be sure to also check for any available updates for your apps in the App Store, as that'll ensure they have the latest improvements applied as well.

If it persists, you may try manually closing the available apps, restart the device, and see if it still happens after this quick refresh of the device: Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support

Cheers.
