I am using iPad Pro 2nd generation.After ios 16.1 update the notes app is lagging,it starts lagging when I write past 3 or 4 pages in a single note. a fresh note doesn’t have this problem until I write past 3 or 4 pages it’s start lagging again ,it also heats up the iPad Pro which I have never felt even in hardcore usage with more that 15 application running including some demanding games.

We understand your Notes app isn't performing or responding as expected. As for the warmth, this is likely expected given the extended time spent with the display on while typing notes. As long as you're not exceeding normal operating temperatures and the iPad isn't shutting down due to the heat, this indicates it's still operating as expected or within range.
Also, Apple's released new software since the release of iPadOS 16.1, so go ahead and back up and update to 16.1.1 and give your iPad about 72 hours to adjust to the new software and then testing further.

My notes app has been very laggy as well, especially when typing or trying to scroll the notes lists.
And I seem to have found the problem with it. Apple notes doesn’t play very nice with tables. And I had long big tables on it, and once I deleted all the notes with the tables, the notes app became very fast.
I moved the tables to Numbers app
