Less than helpful. I am in a similar situation. I purchased a loaded Mac Pro in late 2018 and now find out Apple is not supporting it for OS upgrades, yet my old iMac (2017) is fully supported for Ventura.
sorry but the model year of the Mac is what determines which macOS the Mac can run. the purchase date has zero bearing. and a Mac Pro that was available to be purchased new in 2018 would be a 2013 model. and for that Mac, Monterey is the end of the line.
if that is unsatisfactory for you, you can let apple know. please see Product Feedback - Apple

sorry, but the purchase date and the discontinued date has nothing to do with macOS upgrades. it is entirely dependant on the model year of the Mac. as far as "why not?", it's an issue with older hardware no longer being able to work with a newer macOS. any question and / or answer beyond that would need to be addressed to apple.
Your Mac is NOT going 'unsupported'.
It can still do everything could do the day you took it out of the box, and a whole lot more because Apple has handed you many free macOS upgrades that added to its capabilities, for free.
Current MacOS version plus last two versions of MacOS will also receive security updates, so you have about two more years of security updates.
Less than helpful. I am in a similar situation. I purchased a loaded Mac Pro in late 2018 and now find out Apple is not supporting it for OS upgrades, yet my old iMac (2017) is fully supported for Ventura. Given the cost difference between the two (Mac Pro is 3x the price of an iMac), it is very discouraging to see Apple ignoring the customers who spent a lot of money on their flagship product.
OS upgrades are not "free", their cost is baked into the purchase price of the hardware! It is not like I am looking for Apple to continue supporting a 10 year old Hardware platform, but I would have hoped they would support it for at leat 6 years... The hardware in a late Mac Pro cannot be that different from the hardware in a 2017 iMac.
So, Apple, please listen to your loyal customers and provide an upgrade (or upgrade path) to Ventura!
