FaceTime and webcam

I installed a Nexigo webcam (I have a MacPro with Ventura 13.0.1) but FaceTime does not recognize the camera - Cisco Webex, Messenger, Microsoft Teams, Skype and Zoom do, though. I can't seem to add FaceTime to the Settings/Privacy and Security/Camera list.

Hi wendy thomson,

If the camera is not working for FaceTime on your Mac, see If FaceTime isn't working on your Mac:

"If your camera or microphone doesn’t work

  1. Quit FaceTime, then open FaceTime again.
  2. Restart your Mac.
  3. Make sure that FaceTime isn't open, then see if your camera works in another app, such as Photo Booth. If it doesn't, you know it's not an issue with FaceTime.
  4. If you have multiple cameras or microphones connected to your Mac, check the Video menu in the FaceTime menu bar to make sure that you have the correct camera and microphone selected.
  5. If the issue involves your computer's built-in camera, learn how to resolve issues with the built-in camera.
  6. If the issue involves iPhone when used as a webcam, consult Continuity Camera: Use your iPhone as a webcam for Mac."

Take care.
