Lost my Notes when I moved to a new iPad.

I just moved to a new iPad about a week ago, having worn out my third. Just opened up Notes and learned the all the ideas I’ve been storing for the past ten years have disappeared. I seem to be connected to iCloud okay (and the setup process was freaking amazing!), but I just opened Notes for the first time and everything is gone. Worse still, I’ve already wiped my previous pad. I’m not that worried because I can still reach my notes from my iMac, but they’ve always transferred in the past. Is it just a matter of connecting to some server? My new pad is a 7th generation running iOS 16.

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you are unable to find previous notes after setting up your new iPad, even though you do see the missing notes on your Mac. First, let's make sure you are signed in and enabled the same accounts for Notes that are on your Mac on your new iPad: Add or remove accounts in Notes on iPad - Apple Support

If you are still not seeing the missing notes, and these are synced with your iCloud account, you can go to iCloud.com and see if you can recover them with the steps in these Apple resources:

Delete and recover notes on iCloud.com - Apple Support

If you're missing notes on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
