Rosetta not working on Apple M1 - gives error when re-installing in shell with /usr/sbin/softwareupdate --install-rosetta --agree-to-license

Rosetta does not seem to be working and re-installing using

/usr/sbin/softwareupdate --install-rosetta --agree-to-license in shell gives some kind of error

Yes good point. I've narrowed it down to empower - the add-in for Powerpoint. It just crashes Powerpoint on startup. I also have the Thinkcell add-in in Powerpoint, but that runs native and refuses to run when Rosetta is enabled for PowerPoint. So its basically an empower problem the way I see it and there is nothing I can do about it - have messaged them already to see what they have to say.
