Storage used up by "other users"

Does anyone have experience regarding a large lump of storage being used up by "other users"?

I just recently noticed that around 66 GB of my storage was used by "other users", as shown in the screenshot. I have had my Mac for almost 2 years now, and suddenly this has happened. I am the type of person to regularly check up on my available storage etc. so i know this has happened within the last 2 months or so.

Are there any other macOS user accounts on this laptop? Check the Users & Groups System Preferences/Settings. You can also check for any other locally stored macOS user accounts exist by looking in the "/Users" folder for anything other than your main user account name. There will be a "Shared" folder which is meant for sharing data between multiple user accounts, but it can hold data as well. I have seen a few posts where after a macOS update/upgrade, that some user accounts may seem to disappear from the Users & Groups System Preferences, yet still take up storage space (details are sparse on this rare situation).
