How do reinstall the os if I have no Mac hd in the disk utility

Start here: How to reinstall macOS - Apple Support


The initialization sequence creates Macintosh HD.


If he Mac is very old, it might not have Internet recovery capabilities. If that is the case, you’ll need another Mac to build a bootable installer. Then boot and use that. Start here:

Now if you have no hard disk or SSD showing (and have selected Show All Disks option in Disk Utility), that would usually mean some of your hardware might have failed. That then means a repair, replacement, or an external bootable device.
