No ethernet connection on MBA-M2 via IIyama XUB2792QSN USB-C monitor

I have a new MacBookAir M2, connected to a new IIyama USB-C monitor (model XUB2792QSN) with USB hub, including a RJ45 Network port.

Currently the monitor (display) is operating properly via the USB-C connection connected to the MBA.

The "normal" USB A connections are working and detected by the Mac via the USB-C connection (tested by plugging in a external SSD).

However, the ethernet connection (ethernet cable plugged-in in the monitor) is not detected by the Mac. I tested the cable / connection by using a USB multiport adapter on the MBA, and this was working without problems.

Looking forward to any suggestions you may have.
