Apple Watch different carrier

I am unable to add any additonal lines on my phone carrier. I really would love to get an Apple Watch. Can I just buy one from Best Buy with cellular option instead? Or does it have to be from my carrier. I hope this is not confusing. I would like to purchase an apple watch unlocked so I can use it with my iphone.

You can buy a cellular Apple Watch from anywhere you want to, but its your carrier that needs to be able to activate it on their service and add it to your iPhone's service plan to get cell service on the watch. They'll add a watch service fee to your monthly bill for it.

There should be no problem with activating one bought from Best Buy.
