PR Driver’s License Issue with apple pay.

How do I solve PR Driver’s License Issue with apple pay?

I’ve been using Apple Credit Card for about a month. I have accumulated balance with apple cash but I don’t have access to use it related to identity issues. The system is rejecting my Puerto Rico driver’s license. I’ve contacted apple support and they keep asking for 50 states valid id. I’m willing to provide another identification, including my US passport but they only accept 50 states driver’s license or valid id. I don’t know what to do. Please help.

Hey Puertorricanjibaro,

We see you're needing to have your account verified in order to have access to your Apple Cash. In order to verify your Apple Cash account, a US drivers license or a US state ID is needed.

The requirements include being "18 years of age or older and a citizen or lawfully residing in one of the 50 states of the United States and the District of Columbia (collectively, the “U.S.”)" To read more information about this, review the section labeled "C. Eligibility" here: Apple Cash Terms and Conditions.

Below is a list of information you may be asked to verify:

  • "Your full name
  • Your Social Security number
  • Your date of birth
  • Your home address
  • Answers to questions regarding your personal history

You can also review this information in this article: Identity verification for Apple Card or Apple Cash.

Take care.

This suddenly happened 1 month after having accumulated balance using apple credit card. You should include Puerto Rico driver’s license as a valid identification if iPhone is allowing users from Puerto Rico to access Apple Pay and Apple Cash features. I’m still having this issue without a reasonable response about if this features. I will like to know if are or not available to puertorricans.?

I still have an d use Apple Card and restrictions aren’t allowing me to receive all the cards benefits offered to all your customers. You aren’t in comply with ECOA.

You can still access the funds on your Apple Cash account to make purchases or you can directly transfer to a bank account or an eligible debit card for a 1.5% fee. Standard bank transfer is free and takes 1 - 3 business days. A new feature is a high yield savings account that you can have your Daily Cash Rewards deposited to directly going forward and skip the Apple Cash account. You can go to the Daily Cash hub to switch your preferences.
