14 Pro SMS features

My option to “send as SMS” disappeared from Settings>Messages while trying to get iMessages activated. Is this carrier related? Still receiving activation unsuccessful for iMessages as well. FaceTime came back on after resetting network settings and I was able to set it up, but not iMessages.

SMS option missing I have a new 14 and can’t get iMessage to activate. When I first started troubleshooting “send as SMS” was an option. Now, it’s not there anymore. Is this a carrier issue? Why did it disappear when I started changing settings related to iMessage? Btw, there is no block on my account as I’ve already reached out to support for help with this issue.

iMessage and FaceTime don’t work after switching carriers I switched from ATT To visible with an eSIM. I have an SE 2nd generation. Since switching, I can send SMS texts and receive calls but iMessage is not working. Nor is FaceTime. I looked at many posts but am not able to implement the suggested solutions. I have tried to deactivate iMessage through settings but the toggle is grayed out. I can’t even get the FaceTime to open in settings. I tried to edit my iCloud account but it won’t give me the option to remove my number. It says the number is associated with my phone and FaceTime but they’re definitely not working. Tried Turing the phone on and off more than once. Left it off for several hours. Any suggestions?

You may not have an SMS plan enabled by your carrier for the SIM that you use on your device. Apple Inc does not provide SMS services.

"Send as SMS" when enabled and when your device is not connected to the internet the iMessage will be sent automatically as an SMS assuming you have an SMS plan enabled by your carrier.
