Apple watch cannot power ON

I own 2 apple watches . They are Apple 2 and apple 3 series of watches . They are now classifed as VC - Vintage . However both watches were in perfectly good working condition .After my phone upgrade to IOS 16 both watches cannot be powered ON. I had taken the watch to Genius Bar but they told me that its Vintage Series and hence will not power on now . Such a waste .... I still use an Ipod and other apple devices but non like an Apple Watch . This is not right way wherein device stops working and cannot be powered ON . It can OK if there were no updates but cannot power on means I am being robbed of my money spent on the device .

Provided you are on iOS16.1.1 or later on the phone then at least a series 3 should power on and pair. Series 3 is hardly vintage just yet, they were being sold a year or so ago.

The chances of two watches refusing to power on at the same time suggests a common problem which could simply be a faulty charger. Nothing about the iPhone will stop them powering on.

If the Apple Watch has stopped responding,I suggest first ensuring that the power supply to your charging puck is working correctly. If you have two pucks and other power bricks try swappig them around.

Then perform a force restart. Steps needed are found in the Apple Support article: Restart your Apple Watch - Apple Support

Which also contains instructions to force restart your Apple Watch,

i.e. press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for at least 10 seconds, then release both buttons when you see the Apple logo.

You might have to erase the watch once it powers on.

Unpair and erase your Apple Watch – Apple Support (UK)
