[solved, but why?] iPhone 13 Pro Max bricked while charging overnight

As subject states. Plugged it into Anker Nano 2 45w charger before bed and woke up to it bricked. Tried hard reset, plugging to Apple branded charger, nothing.

found a suggestion online: quickly press and release Volume Down (once), quickly press and release Volume Up (once), then hold power for 15-30 seconds. My phone powered on within 5 seconds with no visible issues.

My question is, how is that the solution? Can I continue to trust this charger?

hi! there isn't really a confirmed explanation for this, however it seems to just be a software bug. some third party applications might be causing this, or your device needs a software update. latest version is 16.1.1, it's just good to keep up to date as each update fixes bugs and all. i work at a apple service provider and many customers come in with the same issue, just needing a force restart (which is volume up, down, then hold power button) and their problems are solved, so it is definitely not a charger issue.
