I cannot reply to specific iPhone group text message since iOS 16.1

One step that may help would be to leave the group message and rejoin. Leave a group text message thread on your iPhone or iPad covers the requirements and steps to leave a group message, after which someone in the group can use Add and remove people in group text messages on your iPhone or iPad to add you back.

If this group message is made up of only Apple device users, you can alternatively try these steps first to turn off and reenable iMessage using these steps from If you can’t turn on or sign in to iMessage or FaceTime - Apple Support:

"Turn off and restart iMessage and FaceTime

1. Go to Settings > Messages and turn off iMessage.
2. Go to Settings > FaceTime and turn off FaceTime.
3. Restart your device:

• iPhone
• iPad
• iPod touch

4. Turn iMessage and FaceTime back on."

Fixed! Thought I’d share…All I did was turn iMessaging off and then I turned it back on. I was able to text my group chats again with androids in it. Other posts I’ve seen say to call Level 2 Tech at Verizon if that’s your carrier and have them reset your network/reprovision your phone/essentially turn off your service and turn it back on. Good luck!!

Does the group chat include at least one Android user? I am having this issue when there is one android user in a group chat with iPhone users. I can only text one android user directly, can’t even text 2 of them in a chat with just them. Insane!
