Way to completely disable multitasking in iOS 16 on my iPad

Why am I no longer able to completely turn off multitasking. I absolutely desires the floating screen because everything is too small for me to be able to read anything. As the owner of my device I should be allowed to disable any features that do not suit my needs or wants.

Unlike iPadOS14 and earlier versions, multi-tasking cannot now be disabled from settings. Multi-tasking is now integral to iPadOS and has received significant overhaul in iPadOS15/16 - both simplifying its use and introducing new features and controls.

Key to accessing and controlling multi-tasking is the small “three-dot” button that is found at the top-centre edge of the screen.
