problems making online payments. Card requirements greyed out

Hello, I hope someone can help. Recently when I try to make online payments on my imac computer; eg. to shops/stores the card payment details are greyed out not allowing me to complete the sale. Everything works fine on my Ipad but not on my Mac computer. This has never happened before. Does anyone know why and what I can do to resolve this? Many thanks in advance.

Hello Ronasara,

Thank you for your suggestion. I tried your solution but it did not work, but at least it may have fixed any other problems. However after a lot of searching, I have found the problem - Kaspersky Internet Security 'safe money' is blocking payments; I don't know why because it's never done it before.

I don't know what the problem is but here is something you can try. Do a restart in the Safe Mode Hole down the Shift key on restart. Be patient as this process can take up to ten minutes while the OS is repairing itself and clearing its caches. Then try again. if that works, restart normally and retry again. This process fixes a multitude of odd problems.

I'm glad you found the problem. I am not familiar with Kaspersky Internet Security 'safe money' but apparently is is in some way similar to their antivirus app. We here all advise against using any of them because they DO cause serious problems and are completely unnecessary. The Mac's OS has its own antivirus built in and because the OS is write protected it cannot be infected. Very interesting.

Thank you for your question. You say that you read that even Mac users needed extra protection. That doesn't mean that it is true. I would ask if they detailed specifically what additional protection is needed and why it is needed? I'm sure they did not because there is no reason. As for the 'Safe Money' option, I am not familiar with it as I said but since it caused your problem I think the answer is that I would disable it. I would read specifically what they say it does for you and then sk yourself if that issue has been a problem for you. Most likely not.
