iPhone gift setup

I'm buying my 91-year-old father an iWatch and am wondering how much I can set up in advance without making it look like its mine. It'll work with his iPhone, his MacBook, account etc... any thoughts, or suggestions?

In order to get it to work it needs to be paired to his iPhone.

There is nothing you can do until it is.

Gifting An iPad Hello, I recently purchased an iPad as a gift for my grandmother. I would like to have it set up for her prior to giving it to her. She already has an iPhone and has an Apple ID (which I have the password to) I wanted to get it set up for her but if I sign into her Apple ID will it alert her phone?
