I have a refurbished series 3 watch im trying to pair with my 13 and its forcing me to do an update to 8.7.1 it's been about 30 min, now it's 3 hours to complete. Is there a compatibility issue or what's going on?!

If there were a compatibility issue, the update wouldn't have been able to start to begin with. As far as the update goes, if it's progressing, then it is working. Longer times can generally be attributed to slower internet speeds or large download sizes.
