The Continuity Camera feature of iPhone, to which you refer, is designed to allow an iPhone to be used as a live webcam for a Mac computer. For this application, the iPhone is typically mounted on the top edge of the Mac’s screen with a physical adapter/bracket.

iOS/iPadOS devices do not support video input from webcams or other iOS/iPadOS devices. iPad does not support Continuity Camera.
