I have received a number of files that won't open.Each file name reads like this - "Word found unreadable content in "~$estioning Template.docx"."
I have tried everything suggested with no success.
What does the "~$" mean at the beginning of the file name? And does anyone have any suggestions on how to open these files, as I need them for work.

Perhaps ask for the sender to check them and resend, perhaps zipped up in a zip file. The file name looks odd so perhaps you can ask about that, too.
My guess would be that the sender is sending you links to documents on their computer rather than the actual documents. They need to send you the documents.
