Images don’t show in notifications

If this is only happening with third-party apps, check to see if there are any updates in the App Store for those apps. If so, go ahead and update the apps and test to see if the issue remains. If this is happening with built-in apps like Messages as well, we suggest that you reach out to Apple Support to have this looked into further.

To clarify, are these images you’re being sent via Messages such as pictures, screenshots and videos? What are you seeing instead of the anticipated images? 

Restarting is a great first instinct. Is your iPhone also up to date with iOS 16.1.2? That can be verified in Settings > General > Software Update. If not, let’s get that update installed. You can do so from the same location. Update your iPhone or iPad
