The error message I get says “the iPad iPad could not be restored an unknown error occurred (9). Now what do I do?

I have attempted to restore it several times and get the same error message each time. When I click on the more info box, it gives me a list of error messages, but not the (9) error message. I have followed all directions turning my computer on and off restarting my iPad etc. still no luck.
