Splitting screens

So I just got a Mac mini. I would like to set it up so I can use 2 monitors at once. I have a gio brand docking station with 2 hdmi ports for my 2 monitors. It connects to the mini via usb 3.0 is there a way this setup can work ? Do I need to buy another device or is this just not possible ? Thanks in advance

Having both displays connected to the same port via a dock, will only allow you to use Mirroring Mode.

For “Extended Desktop Mode” you will need to connect one display to the Mac mini’s HDMI port and one display to a Thunderbolt (USB-C) port using an adapter or dock.
