Bugged login for App Store blocks all app updates, even though no payment is done

Regardless of how carefully I correctly type my Apple ID password in, I am still shown an "incorrect password" popup. I had recently reset my password with the forgot password system using my phone number, so is that causing the issue? If not, is it a bug that only Apple can fix?

Do you still see the same incorrect password after restarting your iPhone? We ask this as restarting can help refresh the iOS and resolve unexpected issues. If needed, the steps below will show how:


"How to restart your iPhone X, 11, 12, 13, or later

  1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
  3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo."
