when i text in landscape on my iphone 8 plus it makes 2 windows; one side with a small half screen keyboard, one side a list of conversations. It looks like the ipad set up.
How do i get rid of the 2 screens and just have one large keyboard and current text conversation?

The feature you're describing, is intended to make typing with one hand easier. If you'd like to center the keyboard, tap the right or left edge of the keyboard.

What you are experiencing is a feature of iOS 16, so this would be expected behavior. Apple is all about improving the experience for their customers. If you've got a functionality request you'd like to see, let the engineers and developers know here:

hey thanks for the response :) one handed texting was and is off. I don't think I explained it well so I've attached a couple pictures.
The keyboard is centered and goes across the whole bottom of the screen but the text conversation is only showing on the right top half of the screen- a list of conversations is showing on the left top side.
I would like the current text conversation to take up the entire top of the screen- just like it is in portrait, just bigger.
My friend has an X (so a bigger screen) and hers does not look like mine. Hers looks normal iphone.
Mine looks ipad.
Any more ideas? Thanks in advance
8 plus keyboard in landscape
