Automatically download all iCloud books in library

Hi there,

I have a new MacBook, very exciting but it looks like I have to individually download all the books in my library rather than select something like a 'batch' download. I'm sure such a simple feature must exist, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Cannot turn off Books iCloud syncing. I use Books on my iMac to store PDFs and sync them to my iPad and iPhone. It annoys me every time there's a major OSX update iCloud syncing is automatically turned on. I have to go through the same routine of recovering all my PDFs off iCloud and turning it off to rebuilt my Books. However now I have found with Sonoma I am not able to turn off Books in my iMac's iCloud Drive settings. When I turn it off, close setting then reopen the setting is turned on again. Not only do I not want to pay for more iCloud storage, I have a lot of manuals in there, but I need some of these PDFs synced to my iPad since I do not always have a network connection. Any way to get my Books iCloud sync setting to turn off and stay off? Or an alternate way to sync and view PDFs without using iCloud.

Exporting epub books from iBooks How can I transfer my books from iBooks to Google play books? They are all books that I purchased and uploaded to iBooks but now I can't take them out again. All the forums I looked at seem to require multiple third party apps and a fair amount of computer know-how, does this mean that Apple has basically stolen all of my privately purchased reading material and is now holding it hostage?

You can do thius via the Finder.

Open the books cloud storage directory.

Open Terminal and enter

open ~/Library/Mobile\ Documents/iCloud~com~apple~iBooks

Select all books and right click to download all marked.

The download status in Books will update accordingly.

You can see the download status:

cloud (downloaded)
cloud with arrow (cloud only).
