alternatives to Catalina Mail app on MBP 2019

I am sick of no longer being able to adjust Message Viewer header / column widths et al. I have learned that this functionality has been removed (really ? how...) although I used to be able to do so.

In the past years I occasionally used a 3rd party mail management app.

Any suggestions on which one(s) or where to find a good comparison of apps for mail in Catalina?

Line spacing in Macmail inbox message view This is not about line spacing in an email message! With the upgrade to Mac OS 12.2 (Monterey) came Mail 15. It spaces message list entries (vertically) much further apart than earlier releases. The result is far fewer messages visible in the list without scrolling. Is there any way to restore the single-spaced message list as in previous versions? (It would be nice to be able to single-space the mailbox list in the sidebar too, but that doesn't affect my productivity as much.) I'd even go back to an earlier release of Mail if that's what it takes, since the new features of Mail 15.0 aren't important to me.

MAIL CLIENT WAS RUINED IN CATALINA. HAS IT BEEN FIXED IN LATER OS'S? The ability to modify the view and display of information of the Apple Mail client in versions previous to Catalina was robust and worked well for most. With the change to Catalina, the ability to manipulate column width and other view features was eliminated. This is a productivity killer for me, and may be a game changer in a bad way. Does anyone know if the ability to customize your Mail view has been restored in later OS's?

How to customize preview pane headers in Mac Mail I just upgraded my MacBook Air to Monterey v. 12. In the conversion, some of the headers in the preview pane in Mac Mail disappeared, e.g. Date Sent and Flag. I show From, Date, Date Received and Mailbox, but that's it. How do I get the other column headers to appear?

You can try Outlook, ThunderBird, ... or others.
