I’ve tried resetting watch, unpairing, deleting app, shutdown phone and watch and music still will not download. Says waiting and I get spinning circle.

i never figured out how to download from phone to watch, but I ended up using the watch to request download from the phone if that makes sense. Bottomline, use the interface on the watch.
Okay so I think I fixed it. Just delete it from your library, it might disappear from the artist’s page too but it came back for me. Downloaded on my phone and synced to the watch. Doesn’t spin now.
I believe problem has been solved since downloading iPhone iOS 16.2 this morning. Watch App / Music suddenly shows all downloaded Music on watch again and has d/l a playlist!

Were you following these steps:
"Add music using your iPhone
In watchOS 9.1, music is added when Apple Watch is placed near your iPhone. In earlier versions of watchOS, your Apple Watch must also be connected to power."

If so, can you provide a few more details? Which watchOS version do you currently have? Which iPhone and iOS version are you currently using with your Apple Watch? Also, have you been able to add music to your Apple Watch previously?

I have the same problem. The main progress bar is done and it says “updated just now” but the album is still spinning. Please let us know when you’ve fixed yours. I’m trying to download it from the UI on the Watch after deleting it from the app.

…so I just removed this particular album from my library and visited the Artist page to re-add it again, but it wasn’t there anymore…
Not sure if that’s the case for you but maybe mine didn’t really finish spinning because the album is virtually non existent (just on my library since I’ve added it before the artist removed it)
Hi, having exactly the same problem on my Series 6 watch AND my wife's Series 4 watch. Spinning wheel, never a problem adding before. OS up to date, version 9.1.
Further, although watches play all existing music on them, Watch App in iPhone shows no existing music, both wife's iPhone 10 Pro Max and my iPhone 14 Pro. Thought they listed all existing downloaded-to-watch Playlists or Albums before?
Tried unpairing Series 4 watch and restoring from backup, but no difference.

No, it has not. It just spins on Music under the Watch app on my iPhone 14 Pro.
For some reason most albums will download fine to my watch Apple Watch Series 6 but one album keeps spinning and spinning in the music under the Watch app on my iPhone 12 Pro. If anyone has any suggestions they’d be greatly appreciated.
