MacBook Pro M1 "Disk Not Ejected Properly"

new M1 Mac mini, with external monitor, Ventura OS 13.0 ... always get this alert upon waking back up from "sleep:" Disk Not Ejected Properly. It does not show for an SSD drive I have attached, but it does for a Seagate hard drive. This question explored Aug 2021. Ventura has different options in Energy Saver. Not sure I want to reformat an existing drive the that worked fine before. Apple .... can you make a software fix on this. It does seem to be a prevalent issue.
