Apple Watch Series 6 stops working after swimming.

I bought an Apple Watch Series 6 on May 2021. Last week (26 November 2022), the watch stop to working after beach swimming. The Water Lock function was turned on as I usually do when swimming. Apple support on site and by phone said that I had to buy a new one and there was nothing to do because it was out of the one-year warranty. It is a strange wonder that I will not use the Apple Watch anymore because I was doing what the equipment was designed for. Does anyone have the same issue with this model?
