Hey lford64,

We'd be happy to help out. To get started, you shouldn't need iCloud space to resolve an issue with your Gmail account, as none of the emails from your Gmail account would be stored in iCloud. These would be two totally separate issues and we'll be sure to address both.

Next, if you aren't able to send and receive emails as expected for your Gmail account, since this is a preconfigured IMAP account, you can resolve this issue more often than not but simply removing the account and adding it back. For more info, review these steps:

Remove your email account and set it up again
1. On your computer, sign in to your email provider’s website. Make sure that all of your email is there or make sure that your email is saved somewhere other than on your iOS or iPadOS device.
2. On your device, go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts.
3. Tap the email account that you want to remove.
4. Tap Delete Account.
5. Add your account again.
