Item not available in your country

I'm a paying Canadian customer on vacation in Thailand. Using music.apple.com, when I try to play songs from my playlist, an error says "Item not available in your country". The message also says "try switching back to your account's registered storefront". I have no idea what this means. It should just work Apple: my account, my playlist, period. Please advise?
