Itunes helper not working

What version of iTunes is installed, and was it installed using a download from apple.com or via the Microsoft Store?

iTunes helper is the background process that should, if desired, launch iTunes when a registered device is connected, and potentially sync it automatically (a potentially risky practice). I assume this isn't currently working for you.
