Lock Screen setting - not possible to set to 'Never'
Hello,
Some help with a strange problem regarding an item in the Lock Screen System Setting would be much appreciated.
Background info
My wife and I have each a (silicon) MacBook Pro 13-inch running Ventura 13.0.1.
On each computer we have defined 2 user accounts, a 'Admin' account (with admin rights) and a ‘Business’ account (without admin rights). 99% of the time we work on the ‘Business’ (no admin rights) account.
Lock Screen problem
We want to set
‘Require password after screen saver begins or display is turned off’
to ‘Never’ (it's currently at ‘8 hours’).
On my computer, after answering the usual prompts, I can do that without any problem. On both accounts ‘Admin and ‘Business’. On my wife’s computer it is possible to change the parameter on the ‘Admin’ account without any problem. But it is impossible to do it on the ‘Business’ account. Attempting to do it results in the following :
1. Change the particular item of Lock Screen from ‘8 hours’ to ‘Never’
2. Prompt to enter admin name and password (normal)
3. Prompt to confirm that I really want to turn off screen lock (normal)
Now where it goes weird :
4. Prompt to choose between continue using keychain or deactivate keychain ????????????? (Why this prompt ? What does this have to do with the job at hand ?)
Whatever I answer to question 4. the setting does not change. It remains at ‘8 hours’ impossible to set to ’Never’.
I believe the strange 4. prompt about keeping or deactivate the keychain is some ‘clue’ to what is wrong and why it is not possible to select ‘Never’. But I can’t figure out what that ‘clue’ might point to.
Any idea ?
Thanks beforehand and
Regards,
nunof
