The new Reminder function for email on iPhone.

I put a reminder on an email, then decided I didn't need, but I cannot remove it from my iPhone. Any advice?

iPhone remind me emails keep coming back, even after moving to trash. I use the iPhone email remind me function a lot, and it has been very useful. however, I now have several remind me emails I cannot get rid of. (1) If I delete them, they go into trash, but keep coming back in the remind me folder, usually the next day. (2) There is no red Remove Reminder command below the calendar for these emails. (3) If I set the reminder date to year 2025, they still keep coming back. (4) If I drag the message title slightly left, and touch Clear by the clock icon, they still keep coming back. (5) Later, Clear with a clock icon does not appear. (6) Restarting my iPhone does not help. (7) disabling remind me notifications in iPhone settings and restarting my iPhone does not help. I’d appreciate any other workaround suggestions, because I doubt enough people have reported this problem to get Apple’s attention; after all, it worked properly for me for many months before this problem started. I am on iOS 17.0.3 on a 2nd Gen iPhone SE, although the Apple device description does not show that. Thanks Kevin [Edited by Moderator]

Automatic email reminders is useless. Doesn’t turn off. Apple’s clever reminder feature moving emails it perceives needing minded to most current is inappropriate, useless and annoying. Apple knows it, ergo option to turn off. Yet It does not turn off when selected on phone. Apple must then have ulterior motive to query email content. Apple. Be decent and get rid of this invasion, unsolicited feature.

Hi Roey M.,

To remove a Remind Me message from the Mail app on your iPhone, do the following:

Open Mail app
Go to your Mailboxes. If you are in a Mailbox, tap on the name of it in Blue at the top left.
Under Mailboxes tap on Remind Me. If you don't see Remind Me:
1. Tap on Edit on the top right
2. Scroll down to Remind Me
3. Tap on the circle next to Remind Me to check it off so it will be added to Mailboxes.
4. Tap Done on the top right.
When in Remind ME, tap Edit on the top right.
Mark the reminder you want to remove.
Tap Trash on the bottom right.
